Guide to Saving Your Favorite Spotify Tracks to an SD Card
As a digital music platform, Spotify offers a wide variety of tracks that can easily be saved to an SD card for offline listening. This article explores three methods to save your Spotify tracks to an SD card, ensuring seamless access to your favorite music even when you're not connected to the internet.
Method 1: Change the Spotify Storage Location to an SD Card
This method is particularly useful for Spotify Premium users. By changing the storage location to an SD card, you can download and save your music directly to the card.
Open the Spotify app on your device and sign in to your account. Navigate to the Settings section within the app. Scroll down to the Storage option and select it. Choose SD card as the storage location. Go back to the Spotify home screen. Find the music you want to download and click the Download button. The selected music will be saved to the SD card in the location you specified in the storage settings.Note: The exact steps might vary slightly depending on your device and operating system. Additionally, not all devices or versions of Spotify support saving downloads to an SD card.
Method 2: Move the Spotify App to the SD Card (Android Only)
This method is specific to Android devices and can automatically save any downloaded music to the SD card.
Insert your SD card into your Android device. Go to Settings > Apps. Find the Spotify app and tap on it. Tap on the Storage > Change options. Select SD card as the storage location. Tap Move to move the app to the SD card. Download the music you want to save by tapping the Download button next to the album or playlist.Method 3: Save Spotify Music to SD Card for All Users
For both Spotify Free and Premium users, this method uses a third-party tool, AudiFab Spotify Music Converter, to download and convert Spotify music to MP3 format, which can then be transferred to the SD card.
Download and install AudiFab Spotify Music Converter on your device. Add the Spotify music you want to download to the application. Choose the desired output format, which is usually MP3. Initiate the conversion process. Check the output files after the conversion is complete. Insert the SD card into your computer or device. Locate the local Spotify MP3 files you want to transfer to the SD card. Right-click on the files and select Copy (Ctrl C). Open File Explorer or Finder on your computer or device. Navigate to the location where the SD card is mounted. Right-click on an empty area in the SD card folder and select Paste (Ctrl V). Wait for the files to transfer to the SD card. The time will depend on the file size and SD card speed. Eject the SD card from your computer or device. Your local Spotify tracks should now be saved on the SD card and can be accessed on any device.Note: If your SD card is not listed in File Explorer or Finder, check that the card is properly inserted and recognized by your device.
