The Controversial Proposal: Should the United States Invade Gaza to Eliminate Hamas?

Should the United States undertake a military invasion of Gaza to eliminate Hamas, the self-proclaimed Palestinian Islamist organization? Absolutely not. Applying brute force to defeat an ideology would be akin to using a hammer to try to influence a pool of water, futile and unrealistic.

Why a Military Invasion Is Not the Solution

The grassroots sentiment against this proposal is profound. It has been proposed multiple times, but the underlying issues remain unresolved. The odds suggest that a peaceful and diplomatic approach outweighs military intervention.

There is an alternative: buy the land of Palestinians, employ them, and ensure their families are adequately cared for under U.S. standards. While this sounds like progress, it is critical to note that such proposals can be equally controversial in their own right, providing some semblance of improvement through time.

Understanding Hamas: Ideas are Bulletproof

As one of my favorite movies once stated: 'Beneath this mask, there is more than flesh. Beneath this mask, there is an idea, Mr. Creedy, and ideas are bulletproof.' Even if physically destroying Hamas were possible, it could result in a more fundamentalist Palestinian entity. Violence only begets more violence. To truly eliminate Hamas, it would have to be dismantled from within, by the Palestinian people themselves, when they are offered a better alternative. This shift would require changes on both the Israeli and international fronts.

A Repeated Pattern: United States and the Middle East

Is it any surprise that the United States continues to invade Middle Eastern countries? There is a continuous cycle of intervention and conflict. What will it take for the world to recognize this as unjustifiable?

Hamas, being the democratically elected government in the Palestinian territories, cannot be easily eliminated through force. If you want to break down Hamas, you must break down its local support. Additionally, any such action from the U.S. would exacerbate tensions with the Arab and Muslim world, as the U.S. would again be drawn into the Israeli-Arab conflict, taking sides yet again.

Revisiting Tribal Times: A Hypothetical Scenario

Imagine a hypothetical scenario with three tribes living in harmony until one decides to build weapons to attack another, leading them to become slaves. The tribes would face three choices: flee, fight back, or submit. In each scenario, the cycle of violence would spiral outward, leading to a perpetual state of unrest. This scenario underscores the need for a shift in consciousness, which is a concept that, while challenging, needs to be addressed to improve our global society.

While there may be those who believe we live in the best possible society, our current systems are indeed outdated. It is time to evolve, much like technology evolves, to meet the needs of the 21st century.

So, even though I may be young, I hope I have provided some food for thought. My goal has been to explore the root causes of global unrest, recognizing that the world is in a constant need of change and improvement. Please correct me if I am wrong.
